| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to the Dublin Jerome High School girls golf team as the 2014 Division I State Champion; and |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Dublin Jerome High School girls golf team are excellent young athletes, and they have established themselves as a truly exceptional squad. This season, the Celtics shot a 626 to win the 2014 Division I State Championship, their fourth consecutive state crown, and the unwavering commitment of the players and coach has earned them this prestigious distinction. They are certainly deserving of high praise; and |
| WHEREAS, Coach Charles Butcher has demonstrated remarkable energy, enthusiasm, and dedication in guiding the Dublin Jerome High School girls golf team to victory, and his skill is reflected in the squad's outstanding accomplishment. Due largely to his tireless efforts, the members have established themselves as winners, both in and out of athletic competition, and he has earned the respect and admiration of all who know him; and |
| WHEREAS, In an educational system that seeks to teach the future leaders of our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and the rewards of individual and group effort, athletic competition has become a valuable tool. Through their participation in sports, the members of the Dublin Jerome High School girls golf team have learned lessons of discipline, perseverance, hard work, and good sportsmanship that will undoubtedly be of great benefit to them throughout their lives; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud the Dublin Jerome High School girls golf team as the 2014 Division I State Champion and extend best wishes for ongoing success; and be it further |
