| Honoring the City of Westerville as the Fifth Friendliest Town in America. |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to honor the City of Westerville on being selected as the Fifth Friendliest Town in America by Forbes and Nextdoor.com; and |
| WHEREAS, This is truly a remarkable tribute, and congratulations are certainly in order. Using its own neighborhood engagement index, Nextdoor.com examined communities with populations less than 150,000 that had high percentages of college graduates, owner-occupied homes, and charitable contributions, as well as numerous parks, events, activities, and volunteer opportunities, and the City of Westerville was also acknowledged for its extremely low crime rate; and |
| WHEREAS, The City of Westerville radiates vitality, optimism, and a charm all its own, and its schools, businesses, and civic organizations both embody and thrive upon the values of which our flag is an emblem. A vigorous commitment to public service and an earnest devotion to lofty ideals have long been second nature to many local residents, and vigilance, industriousness, and generosity have come to typify their collective character; and |
| WHEREAS, As reflected in its accomplishments, the City of Westerville is a community made up of citizens who are not afraid of change but who welcome it. They temper new ideas with the wisdom gained from previous experiences to achieve true progress and have built on the best traditions of the past to ensure a future filled with hope and promise; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, recognize the City of Westerville as the Fifth Friendliest Town in America and offer our best wishes for its perennial good fortune; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the City of Westerville. |
