BILL SUMMARY

·        Establishes a 35-mile per hour speed limit for highways outside municipal corporations within island jurisdictions.

CONTENT AND OPERATION

Under current law, highways outside municipal corporations generally have a speed limit of 55 miles per hour unless those highways qualify for the 65-mile per hour speed limit.  The bill establishes a speed limit of 35 miles per hour on highways outside municipal corporations that are within an island jurisdiction (R.C. 4511.21(B)(8)).
