A BILL
To amend section 4703.08 of the Revised Code to permit reciprocity of licensure in this state for architects who are registered in another jurisdiction if that jurisdiction offers similar reciprocity for architects registered in this state and the applicant meets specified criteria.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF OHIO:


Section 1. That section 4703.08 of the Revised Code be amended to read as follows:

Sec. 4703.08. The state board of examiners of architects shall certify and register an applicant who provides satisfactory evidence that he is THE APPLICANT MEETS ALL OF THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:

(A) IS a LICENSED OR registered architect in another state OR JURISDICTION where the qualifications required are FOR LICENSURE OR REGISTRATION WERE equal, in the opinion of the board, to those required in sections 4703.01 to 4703.19 of the Revised Code, who holds a certificate AT THE TIME OF THE APPLICANT'S ORIGINAL LICENSURE OR REGISTRATION IN THAT STATE OR JURISDICTION;

(B) HOLDS A CURRENT RECORD in good standing issued by the national council of architectural registration boards;

(C) IS A LICENSED OR REGISTERED ARCHITECT IN ANOTHER STATE OR JURISDICTION THAT EXTENDS RECIPROCITY SIMILAR TO THAT OFFERED UNDER THIS SECTION, TO ARCHITECTS WHO ARE REGISTERED IN THIS STATE.


Section 2. That existing section 4703.08 of the Revised Code is hereby repealed.
