A BILL
To amend section 517.30 of the Revised Code to permit a board of township trustees, on its own initiative, to erect a monument commemorating deceased members of the armed forces and to increase the maximum appropriation for the monument from $500 to $5,000.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF OHIO:


Section 1. That section 517.30 of the Revised Code be amended to read as follows:

Sec. 517.30. Whenever there is presented to the A board of township trustees, a petition signed by not less than thirty per cent of the electors of such township as shown by the most recent general election held therein, requesting the erection of MAY ERECT a suitable monument to commemorate the soldiers and sailors MEMBERS OF THE ARMED FORCES who died in the service of the United States or of this state, such. THE board may, by a majority vote, MAY appropriate and expend not more than five hundred THOUSAND dollars from the township funds for the purpose of erecting such THE monument, according to plans and specifications furnished or approved by such THE board.


Section 2. That existing section 517.30 of the Revised Code is hereby repealed.
