A BILL
To enact section 5.2241 of the Revised Code to designate June 19 as "Juneteenth National Freedom Day."

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That section 5.2241 of the Revised Code be enacted to read as follows:
Sec. 5.2241. The nineteenth day of June is designated as "Juneteenth National Freedom Day" to acknowledge the freedom, history, and culture that June 19, 1865, the day on which the last slaves in the United States were set free in Texas, has come to symbolize.
