ACT SUMMARY

·        Designates a portion of State Route 423 within Marion County the "Deputy Brandy Winfield Memorial Highway."

CONTENT AND OPERATION

The bill designates the portion of State Route 423 within Marion County, from Bethlehem Road to Marion-Cardington Road, as the "Deputy Brandy Winfield Memorial Highway" and authorizes the Director of Transportation to erect suitable markers along the highway indicating its name.

COMMENT

On October 14, 2004, Marion County Sheriff's Deputy Brandy Winfield was shot and killed in the line of duty.
