ACT SUMMARY
· Prohibits the inclusion of the Social Security number of the owner of a motor vehicle or the person in whose name a motor vehicle is registered in the renewal notice mailed by the Registrar of Motor Vehicles for the registration of the motor vehicle.
CONTENT AND OPERATION
Under continuing law, no less than 45 days prior to the expiration date of any motor vehicle registration, the Registrar of Motor Vehicles must mail a renewal notice to the person in whose name the motor vehicle is registered. The act prohibits the inclusion in the renewal notice of the Social Security number of either the owner of the motor vehicle or the person in whose name the motor vehicle is registered. (R.C. 4503.102(B)(1).)
