BILL SUMMARY

·        Designates a portion of Interstate Route 270 within Franklin County as the "Bobby Rahal Expressway."

CONTENT AND OPERATION

The bill designates the portion of Interstate Route 270 running in a northerly and southerly direction within Franklin County, between the Tuttle Crossing Boulevard interchange of that freeway and the Cemetery Road interchange of that freeway, as the "Bobby Rahal Expressway."  The bill specifies that the "Bobby Rahal" designation applies notwithstanding any other name approved by the Director of Transportation based upon a request from local government officials.

The bill permits the Director to erect suitable markers along the highway indicating its name.

COMMENT

Bobby Rahal, auto racing team owner and former driver, is a native and current resident of Ohio.  He won the Indianapolis 500 in 1986.
