·        Designates the month of January as "Fibromyalgia Awareness Month."

CONTENT AND OPERATION

Fibromyalgia

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), fibromyalgia is a disorder of unknown etiology characterized by widespread pain, abnormal pain processing, sleep disturbance, fatigue and often psychological distress.  Those with fibromyalgia may also experience morning stiffness, numbness of hands and feet, headaches or migraines, irritable bowel syndrome, problems with memory and thinking, or painful menstrual periods and other pain syndromes.[1]
