BILL SUMMARY

·         Requires that the Governor's State of the State Address be delivered on a week night at 7 p.m.

CONTENT AND OPERATION

Article III, Section 7 of the Ohio Constitution requires the Governor to communicate at every session, by message, to the General Assembly on the condition of the state and recommend such measures as the Governor deems expedient.  The bill requires that this communication, commonly referred to as the "State of the State Address," be presented orally on a day of the week other than a Saturday or Sunday at 7 p.m. (R.C. 107.13).
