Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) may experience minimal costs to
install suitable markers along the designated portions of State Route 59. There may be future maintenance costs for
routine upkeep or for repairs if the markers are damaged.

If
ODOT chooses not to erect markers, the municipality of Cuyahoga Falls may incur
minimal costs if it chooses to install markers on the designated portions of
State Route 59 within municipal boundaries.
If Cuyahoga Falls were to install the markers, it might also incur
minimal upkeep and repair costs.

The bill designates a
portion of State Route 59 within Cuyahoga Falls in Summit County as the
"Sergeant Bryan W. Large Memorial Highway" and designates another
portion of State Route 59 within Cuyahoga Falls as the "Sergeant Justin T.
Walsh Memorial Highway."
The Ohio Department of
Transportation (ODOT) may incur minimal costs to install suitable plaques or
signs along the designated portions of State Route 59. When a highway or bridge is designated as a
memorial, the Department's policy is to first install a memorial plaque in a
rest area, scenic overlook, recreational area, or other appropriate location.[1] If this is not practical, a marker is
installed along the highway or near the bridge instead. Two plaques or two markers are usually
installed, one in either direction at each location. Current costs to manufacture, install, and maintain a single set
of memorial plaques or markers at one location are estimated to be a few
hundred dollars, depending on the size of the marker(s), equipment and
materials needed to install them, and the frequency of maintenance.
More often than not, ODOT
erects markers for memorial highways named through legislation. However, if ODOT chooses not to, the
municipality of Cuyahoga Falls in Summit County may install such markers along
the designated portions of State Route 59 within municipal boundaries and would
incur the expense for doing so.
