In the provision of the House-passed version of the bill that expands the offense of "sexual battery" to also prohibit a peace officer from engaging in sexual conduct with a minor who is not the officer's spouse, added an additional element that also requires that, in order for the prohibition to apply, the relationship between the peace officer and the minor must have arisen while the officer was performing the officer's official duties as a peace officer.
