The Committee adopted amendments that do all of the following:

Expand the training requirements of an independent marriage and family therapist or a marriage and family therapist to include training in the diagnosis of mental and emotional disorders.

Prohibit an independent marriage and family therapist or a marriage and family therapist from diagnosing, treating, or advising on conditions outside the boundaries of the therapist's competency and require a therapist to make appropriate and timely referrals when a client's needs exceed the therapist's competence level.

Eliminate certain contract requirements for an appropriation made to the Ohio Association of Rehabilitation Facilities regarding the implementation of the Community Rehabilitation Program national accreditation compliance and monitoring program.
