Amendments adopted by the House committee do all of the following:
Remove municipal public safety directors from the
Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) law enforcement division and include them
in regular PERS.
Limit monthly reimbursement by PERS and the Ohio
Police & Fire Pension Fund (OP&F) for Medicare Part B premiums to an
amount determined by the appropriate board that is not less than $96.40, except
that the reimbursement cannot exceed the amount paid
for coverage.
Prohibits the OP&F Board from paying more than one
monthly Medicare Part B premium reimbursement to a benefit recipient receiving
more than one monthly benefit, or paying a monthly premium reimbursement to a
benefit recipient who receives reimbursement from another source.
Removes a provision enacted in H.B. 562 of the 127th
General Assembly that revises penalties assessed against employers who fail to
timely transmit to PERS employee retirement contributions or required reports
of those contributions.
