The Senate Committee removed from the House-passed version of the bill the provision that would have made a person ineligible as a candidate for the office of prosecuting attorney, and ineligible to be elected to that office, who has not engaged in the practice of law in Ohio for a total of at least five years preceding the person's appointment to or commencement of a term as a prosecuting attorney.
