A BILL
To amend section 505.46 of the Revised Code to
increase from $1,000 to $15,000 the amount a
township can expend on a footbridge across rivers
and streams to access public schools.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That section 505.46 of the Revised Code be amended
to read as follows:
Sec. 505.46. The board of township trustees may construct,
rebuild, and
repair footbridges across rivers and streams when
necessary, to provide
convenient means of access to the public
schools of the township by pupils
residing in the school district
wherein
in which a public schoolhouse is located. If a
river or
stream coincides with the boundary of two townships, either of the
townships may construct, rebuild, or repair a footbridge across
such
that river or
stream at its own expense and subject to
section 505.47 of the Revised Code.
In no case shall the cost of
the construction, rebuilding, or repair of any
footbridge exceed
the sum of
one
fifteen thousand dollars.
Section 2. That existing section 505.46 of the Revised Code
is hereby repealed.
