A BILL
To enact section 5553.045 of the Revised Code to permit a board of township trustees to vacate township roads within its jurisdiction.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That section 5553.045 of the Revised Code be enacted to read as follows:
Sec. 5553.045.  After holding a public meeting on the matter, a board of township trustees may vacate any township road within its jurisdiction by adopting a resolution finding that the vacation is in the best interests of the township. The resolution shall order the road vacated, and it then shall cease to be a public road. A certified copy of the resolution shall be forwarded to the board of county commissioners, the county engineer, and the county recorder. This method of vacating a township road is in addition to any other method available under this chapter.
