A BILL
To enact section 1109.051 of the Revised Code to
prohibit banks from imposing minimum balance
requirements or charges for providing check
cashing and bill processing services in connection
with a deposit account opened by a customer for
personal use.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That section 1109.051 of the Revised Code be
enacted to read as follows:
Sec. 1109.051. A bank shall not impose a minimum balance
requirement, monthly fee, or any other limitation or charge for
providing check cashing and bill processing services in connection
with any deposit account opened by a customer of the bank for
personal use on or after the effective date of this section.
