A BILL
To enact section 121.531 of the Revised Code to
prohibit spending American Recovery and
Reinvestment Act of 2009 funds on signs that
identify the source of specific project funding
and to declare an emergency.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That section 121.531 of the Revised Code be
enacted to read as follows:
Sec. 121.531. No recipient or distributor of funds received
under the "American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009," Pub.
L. No. 111-5, 123 Stat. 115, shall spend such funds to purchase,
produce, erect, or maintain signs identifying the American
Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 as the source of specific
project funding.
Section 2. This act is hereby declared to be an emergency
measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public
peace, health, and safety. The reason for such necessity is that
as federal stimulus funds are being depleted, it is imperative
that the funds be used to create jobs and stimulate economic
growth in Ohio. Therefore, this act shall go into immediate
effect.
