A BILL
To enact section 5.2288 of the Revised Code to enact
the "School Bullying Prevention Awareness Act" to
designate September as School Bullying Prevention
Awareness Month and to declare an emergency.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That section 5.2288 of the Revised Code be enacted
to read as follows:
Sec. 5.2288. The month of September shall be designated as
"School Bullying Prevention Awareness Month" to highlight the
policies prohibiting harassment, intimidation, or bullying adopted
by schools in the state and the required notice of those policies
sent to parents and guardians annually under section 3313.666 of
the Revised Code.
Section 2. This act shall be known as the "School Bullying
Prevention and Awareness Act."
Section 3. This act is hereby declared to be an emergency
measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public
peace, health, and safety. The reason for such necessity is to
recognize school bullying prevention awareness month in this
calendar year. Therefore, this act shall go into immediate effect.
