AN ACT
To amend section 5.2250 of the Revised Code to
designate September as "Mitochondrial Disease
Awareness Month."
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Ohio:
SECTION 1. That section 5.2250 of the Revised Code be amended
to read as follows:
Sec. 5.2250. The third week month of September is designated
as "Mitochondrial Disease Awareness Week Month" to raise awareness
of the existence, symptoms, and management of a diverse group of
disorders known as mitochondrial disease and its symptoms that may
impact either a part of the body or multiple organ systems as a
result of dysfunction of the mitochondria, which are structures
within cells that produce energy needed for cellular performance.
SECTION 2. That existing section 5.2250 of the Revised Code
is hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. This act shall be known as the "Corynna Strawser
Act."
