Recognizing the Beavercreek High School varsity Test of Engineering Aptitude, Mathematics, and Science team on placing first in the extra-large school division at the 2009 state competition.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF OHIO:


       WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate the Beavercreek High School varsity Test of Engineering Aptitude, Mathematics, and Science team on winning the state competition in the extra-large school division; and

       WHEREAS, Unsurpassed in knowledge, composure, and creativity, the Beavercreek High School varsity Test of Engineering Aptitude, Mathematics, and Science team gave a brilliant performance at the 2009 state tournament to win first place in the extra-large school division, and its impressive finish signifies tremendous accomplishment. These young scholars devoted countless hours to rigorous training in order to be in peak mental condition, and under the pressures of competition, they rose to the occasion with a truly exceptional performance. It is not surprising that their victory at the state competition has won them a host of admirers, even among their most determined rivals; and

       WHEREAS, The members of the Beavercreek High School varsity Test of Engineering Aptitude, Mathematics, and Science team have amply proven themselves to be innovative, articulate, and tenacious. Skillfully coached, they are to be commended not only for their grasp of a formidable amount of challenging material but also for their poise, confidence, and mental agility. Throughout the event, team members Michael Ausserer, Deepak Chona, Christian Cone, Stephen Gould, Colin Hu, Luke Sobota, Caroline Win, and David Zhou displayed remarkable insight, ingenuity, and resolve. Their thorough preparation was evident at every point in the contest, and they merit praise for their triumph in the face of stiff opposition. To their credit, their genuine passion for learning and effective problem solving has set a fine example for their peers; and

       WHEREAS, The TEAMS tournaments acknowledge academic excellence, showcase proficiency, foster interest in a variety of scholastic pursuits, and promote support for the efforts of some of the area's most gifted and diligent students. Each stimulating intellectual exercise offers valuable lessons about concentration, self-discipline, and perseverance, and by mastering these, the members of the Beavercreek High School varsity Test of Engineering Aptitude, Mathematics, and Science team have made many people very proud; therefore be it

       RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud the Beavercreek High School varsity Test of Engineering Aptitude, Mathematics, and Science team for outstanding achievement and wish its members a bright, rewarding future; and be it further

       RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Beavercreek High School.
