A RESOLUTION
Recognizing National Visiting Nurse Association Week,
May 11-17, 2009.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF OHIO:
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to recognize May 11-17, 2009, as National Visiting Nurse Association Week; and |
| WHEREAS, Enacted by Congress in 2003, National Visiting Nurse Association Week provides an opportunity to acknowledge the vital contributions that visiting nurses have made in effectively meeting the needs of patients. By offering considerate and cost-effective home healthcare, they seek to assist some of the nation's most vulnerable people, including the elderly, the disabled, and the chronically ill, in maintaining their quality of life; and |
| WHEREAS, As the cost of healthcare increases, so must the importance of services provided by the clinicians, nurses, and healthcare professionals dedicated to the VNA mission, for they have clearly demonstrated expertise, initiative, and leadership in managing and coordinating personalized and customized care of their patients. The skill, sensitivity, and compassion they have displayed demonstrate how a small group of people can have a positive impact on the lives of many, and we applaud them on their superb record of service in improving the well-being of their fellow citizens; and |
| WHEREAS, On the occasion of National Visiting Nurse Association Week, it is fitting that we recognize and affirm the value of visiting nurses for their unwavering commitment to quality health care. We are certain that these fine individuals will continue their devotion to professional excellence long into the future; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, celebrate National Visiting Nurse Association Week, May 11-17, 2009, and urge all residents to recognize and support visiting nurses; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit duly authenticated copies of this Resolution to the news media of Ohio. |
