A RESOLUTION
Honoring the Ottawa Hills High School Quiz Bowl team
as the 2009 National Champion.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF OHIO:
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate the Ottawa Hills High School Quiz Bowl team on winning the 2009 National Academic Quiz Bowl Tournament; and |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Ottawa Hills High School Quiz Bowl team are a remarkable group of young academicians, combining talent and competitive spirit with exceptional knowledge to establish themselves as truly exemplary students. With commendable dedication, they performed admirably against teams from across the United States, and as a result, they won first place in the nation in this year's championship. Throughout long hours of practice and preparation, members Spencer Trumm, John Nissen, Matthew Cason, Alex Cioc, and Nirbhay Jain have displayed a degree of determination and motivation of which they can be proud; and |
| WHEREAS, In preparing themselves for this important contest, the members of the Ottawa Hills High School Quiz Bowl team have had the opportunity to develop and express their individual abilities and to acquire knowledge and information that will be of great benefit to them throughout their lives. Having worked diligently to sharpen their skills, they confronted competition with confidence and enthusiasm and distinguished themselves as worthy representatives of their school, community, and state; and |
| WHEREAS, The success of the Ottawa Hills High School Quiz Bowl team is a justifiable source of pride not only for the students but also for their coach, Lauren Hurst, their families, their school, and their community. The maturity and experience the members have gained through their participation in this exciting activity will greatly aid them in meeting the challenges of the future; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud the Ottawa Hills High School Quiz Bowl team for outstanding achievement and salute the members and coach as some of Ohio's finest citizens; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Ottawa Hills High School Quiz Bowl team. |
