A RESOLUTION
Honoring Tony Ortiz
as the 2009 League of United Latin American Citizens' Man of the Year.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF OHIO:
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to Tony Ortiz on receiving the 2009 Man of the Year Award from the League of United Latin American Citizens; and |
| WHEREAS, Known throughout the area as an exceptional individual, Tony Ortiz has earned the respect and gratitude of all those who have come to know him. The former head trainer of the basketball team at Wright State University, he has involved himself in many significant endeavors, helping to guarantee a high level of success for all projects with which he has been associated; and |
| WHEREAS, Demonstrating a sincere concern for the future of the area, Tony Ortiz has given back far more than he has gleaned. His contributions to the local Latin American communities are the hallmark of genuine and responsible citizenship, and he has clearly demonstrated the potential of individuals to have a positive effect on the quality of life in our society; and |
| WHEREAS, Whether occupying center stage or working diligently in the wings, Tony Ortiz has always made his dynamic, supportive presence felt. It is through the unsurpassed efforts and unparalleled commitment of individuals such as he that our state continues to grow and prosper and remains responsive to the needs of its citizens; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate Tony Ortiz as LULAC Man of the Year and extend best wishes for the future; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Tony Ortiz. |
