A RESOLUTION
Honoring Roger Gardner
as the 2009 Marine of the Year.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF OHIO:
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to commend Roger Gardner on being presented with the 2009 Marine of the Year Award by the Marine Corps League Department of Ohio; and |
| WHEREAS, Roger Gardner is a remarkable individual, for he combined courage and dedication with tremendous strength and resolve during his loyal military service. The immediate past commandant of the Marine Corps League Department of Ohio, he previously served two years as commandant, and throughout his membership with the Herman Hesselschwardt Marine Corps League Detachment 758, he has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to performing his duties and fulfilling his responsibilities with the utmost efficiency and competence; and |
| WHEREAS, Roger Gardner has certainly distinguished himself as a patriotic and hard-working American. He has displayed qualities that are essential for successful leadership, and his outstanding efforts have helped to guarantee a high level of success for all projects with which he has been involved. Indeed, we applaud him on his work; and |
| WHEREAS, The heroic traditions of our armed forces are an important part of our nation's heritage. Giving freely of his time, energy, and abilities far beyond what was required or expected, Roger Gardner has earned the respect and admiration of all those with whom he has served and the gratitude of Americans everywhere. To his credit, he has the satisfaction of knowing that he has provided a valuable service to our country and established a record of achievement worthy of emulation; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud Roger Gardner on being named the 2009 Marine of the Year and salute him as one of Ohio's finest citizens; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Roger Gardner. |
