A RESOLUTION
Honoring Dave Johnston
on winning the 2009 United States Air Force Marathon.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF OHIO:
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to Dave Johnston as the 2009 U.S. Air Force Marathon champion; and |
| WHEREAS, A remarkable man, Dave Johnston has combined talent and competitive spirit with the highest ideals of good sportsmanship to establish himself as a truly exceptional athlete. With admirable dedication, he has worked diligently toward attaining ultimate proficiency in long-distance running, and as a result, he won first place in this year's USAF Marathon; and |
| WHEREAS, Dave Johnston's accomplishments and leadership, both in and out of competition, are a justifiable source of pride and a fine reflection not only on him but also on his family and his community. His unwavering commitment to excellence has earned him the respect and esteem of many, and he is certainly worthy of high praise; and |
| WHEREAS, With athletic competition playing such an important role in the development of life skills, we are extremely pleased to pay tribute to Dave Johnston on his exemplary performance. Indeed, the same tenacity and determination he has demonstrated through his participation in this marathon will greatly aid him in meeting the challenges of the future; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Dave Johnston as the 2009 USAF Marathon winner and extend best wishes for continued success; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Dave Johnston. |
