Honoring the Eastwood High School boys track and field team on winning the 2009 Division II OHSAA State Championship

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF OHIO:


       WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to the Eastwood High School boys track and field tem as the 2009 Division II Ohio High School Athletic Association State Champion; and

       WHEREASUnder the capable leadership of Coach Gary White and his assistants, Brian Sabo, Nikki Sabo, Bob Patterson, Ethan Downey, and D.J. Michel, the Eastwood High School boys track team has proven to be a talented and superbly conditioned squad and has gained the respect of fans and opponents alike for the spirited and highly motivated play of its members. Throughout the season, players Crosby Shemenauer, Justin Welch, Josh Hoodlebrink, Cody Seifert, Matt Schlumbohm, Jake Rogers, Zach Conkle, Lucas Hoodlebrink, Jayson Faykosh, Taylor Depew, and Josh Beaudoin worked diligently to improve their abilities, and consequently, the Eagles scored 47 points to secure this year's state championship title, earning the school its first crown in the history of the boys track program; and

       WHEREAS, Known as a driven and spirited team, the Eagles have developed into a remarkably efficient group of athletes whose skill is equaled only by their exemplary display of teamwork and sportsmanship. They are a credit not only to their families and their school but also to the superb coaching of their mentor, Gary White; and

       WHEREAS, The road to victory and a championship title is a difficult one, requiring ability, endurance, teamwork, and a positive attitude on the part of the athletes and coaches alike. The members of the Eastwood High School boys track and field team have exemplified all fo the characteristics that are essential for success both on and off the track, including courage, discipline, integrity, and good sportsmanship, and their efforts have earned them the admiration of all of those who have witnessed these outstanding athletes in action ; therefore be it

       RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congradulate the Eastwood High School boys track and field team on winning the 2009 Division II Ohio High School Athletic Association State Championship and applaud all of those associated with this exceptional squad; and be it further

       RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Eastwood High School boys track and field team.
