A RESOLUTION
Honoring Greg Micheli
on winning several national athletic awards.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF OHIO:
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Greg Micheli on his outstanding performance during the 2008 football season; and |
| WHEREAS, A senior at Mount Union College, Greg Micheli has combined talent and competitive spirit with the highest academic standards to establish himself as a truly exceptional student athlete. With admirable dedication, he has worked diligently toward attaining ultimate proficiency in football, and as a result, he completed 240 of 320 passes for 3,743 yards and 36 touchdowns with only 2 interceptions, became the nation's top rated passer with a 209.13 efficiency, and led the Purple Raiders to the 2008 NCAA Division III Championship while maintaining a 3.84 grade point average. Among his national accolades, he was named the College Division Academic All-American of the Year by ESPN The Magazine and was selected as a finalist for the Draddy Trophy by the National Football Foundation, and he received the Gagliardi Trophy as the top all-around player in Division III, a NCAA Top VIII Award, and College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-American first-team honors; and |
| WHEREAS, Greg Micheli's accomplishments and leadership, both in athletic competition and in the classroom, are a justifiable source of pride and a fine reflection not only on him but also on his family, his teammates, his coaches and instructors, his school, and his community. His unwavering commitment to excellence has earned him the respect and admiration of many, and he is certainly worthy of high praise; and |
| WHEREAS, With athletic competition playing such an important role in the total education of our young people, we are extremely pleased to pay tribute to Greg Micheli on an exemplary season. Indeed, the same maturity and experience he has gained through his participation in football will greatly aid him in meeting the challenges of the future; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Greg Micheli on his personal success and extend best wishes for the future; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Greg Micheli. |
