A RESOLUTION
Honoring the Huron High School volleyball team
as the 2009 Division III State Champion.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF OHIO:
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate the Huron High School volleyball team on winning the 2009 Ohio High School Athletic Association Division III State Championship; and |
| WHEREAS, A remarkable group of young athletes, the members of the Huron High School volleyball team have combined talent and competitive spirit with the highest ideals of good sportsmanship to establish themselves as a truly exceptional squad. With admirable dedication, the Tigers have worked diligently toward attaining ultimate proficiency in volleyball, and as a result, they defeated a tough Frankfort Adena team by the score of 25-17, 25-21, 25 21 to win this year's Division III State Championship, finishing the season with an impressive 26-3 record; and |
| WHEREAS, The Tigers' achievements and leadership are a justifiable source of pride and an excellent reflection on the players, their families, their school, their community, and their coach. The success of any athletic endeavor depends largely on the ability of the coach to provide both guidance and inspiration, and in leading his team to victory, Coach Don Wood has not only helped each athlete to develop her talents to the fullest, but he has also instilled in each a valuable sense of determination, perseverance, and camaraderie; and |
| WHEREAS, With athletic competition playing such an important role in the total education of our young people, we are extremely pleased to pay tribute to these fine athletes and their outstanding coach for a job well done. The maturity and experience the team members have gained through participation in sports will greatly aid them in meeting upcoming challenges; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend the Huron High School varsity volleyball team on its tremendous 2009 season and extend best wishes for the future; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Huron High School volleyball team. |
