A RESOLUTION
Representatives Yates, Pryor
Honoring Terry J. Collins on his retirement
from the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF OHIO:
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to Terry J. Collins on the memorable occasion of his retirement as director of the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction; and |
| WHEREAS, Throughout his distinguished service with the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction, Terry Collins has demonstrated an unwavering dedication to performing his duties and fulfilling his responsibilities with the utmost efficiency and competence. Commencing his tenure in 1977, he served in various posts at the Southern Ohio Correctional Facility, the London, Lorain, and Ross correctional instutions, and the central office before being appointed director in 2006. In addition, he has been active with numerous professional organizations, including the American Correctional, Ohio Correctional and Court Services, and Ohio Wardens associations, the Correctional Accreditation Association of Ohio, the National Association of Blacks in Criminal Justice, and the Association of State Correctional Administrators; and |
| WHEREAS, Terry Collins is a remarkable individual, combining civic concern and commitment with selfless initiative to become a dynamic leader in his field. Always sincere and energetic in his approach to his work, he has given freely of his time and abilities far beyond what was required or expected and has displayed a genuine commitment to improving the quality of life in our society; and |
| WHEREAS, The enthusiasm and expertise Terry Collins has shown in his endeavors have earned him the respect of all those with whom he has been associated. As he retires, he has the satisfaction of knowing that he has provided a valuable service to the State of Ohio and has established a record of personal and professional achievement that will stand as a hallmark for others to emulate; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate Terry J. Collins on his retirement and salute him as one of Ohio's finest citizens; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Terry J. Collins. |
