A RESOLUTION
Honoring Nikki Craft
as the 2009 Division II State Champion in girls diving.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF OHIO:
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to Nikki Craft, a junior at Bay High School, on winning the 2009 Division II State Championship in girls diving; and |
| WHEREAS, This accomplishment is truly noteworthy, for Nikki Craft has clearly demonstrated her outstanding ability and spirited drive, as well as her concentration and tenacity. With admirable dedication, she has worked diligently to attain ultimate proficiency in diving, and as a result, she scored a state record of 475.4 points to win this year's Division II State Diving Championship, her second consecutive state title; and

| WHEREAS, Few sports embody the spirit of individual accomplishment more than diving, and athletes such as Nikki Craft exemplify the qualities necessary for excellence in any sport, including discipline, agility, conditioning, and focus. Indeed, throughout long hours of practice and preparation, she has consistently shown the talent and motivation that are the hallmarks of a true champion; and |
| WHEREAS, In an educational system that seeks to teach the future leaders of our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and the rewards of individual effort, athletic competition has become a valuable educational tool. Through her participation in sports, Nikki Craft has learned lessons of perseverance, hard work, and fair and honest competition that will undoubtedly be of great benefit to her throughout her lifetime; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate Nikki Craft on her outstanding performance in state competition and extend best wishes for continued success; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Nikki Craft. |
