A RESOLUTION
Honoring Bridget Doughty
as a 2009 Division II State Track and Field Champion.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF OHIO:
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to Bridget Doughty on winning the 300-meter hurdles at the 2009 Division II State Track and Field Championship; and |
| WHEREAS, A sophomore at Bay High School, Bridget Doughty is deserving of recognition for her exemplary attainment in track and field. A fine young athlete, she secured this year's Division II State Championship title in the 300-meter hurdles, and her record of personal achievement stands as a hallmark worthy of emulation; and |
| WHEREAS, In a society that seeks to teach the future leaders of our state and nation the fundamentals of self reliance and the rewards of individual effort, athletic competition has become a valuable educational tool. As evidenced by her accomplishment, Bridget Doughty has learned the important lessons of discipline, perseverance, hard work, and good sportsmanship that will undoubtedly be of great benefit to her throughout her life; and |
| WHEREAS, Running is an event which requires exceptional stamina and natural ability, and Bridget Doughty is to be commended for her commitment to this demanding activity. In attaining her athletic goals, she has certainly distinguished herself as a true champion; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate Bridget Doughty on her state championship title and extend best wishes for ongoing success; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Bridget Doughty. |
