Honoring Caleb D. Courson as the 2009 Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper of the Year.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF OHIO:


       WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Caleb D. Courson on being named the 2009 Trooper of the Year for the Ohio State Highway Patrol; and

       WHEREAS, Caleb Courson is deserving of high praise, for he has combined civic concern and commitment with selfless initiative to become a dynamic leader in the field of law enforcement. Joining the Ohio State Highway Patrol in 2001, he has been assigned to the Marietta Post for the past eight years, and he has been recognized by dispatchers and fellow troopers for his outstanding service, leadership abilities, professional ethics, and courteous treatment of others, as well as for his enthusiastic work attitude and cooperation with supervisors, peers, and the public; and

        WHEREAS, Fulfilling his myriad duties with the utmost efficiency and competence, Caleb Courson has given of his time and energy far beyond what was required or expected, and we applaud him on his exemplary efforts. This accomplishment is a justifiable source of pride and an excellent reflection not only on him but also on his supervisors, his post, and the community; and

       WHEREAS, At a time when many people are content to take a passive role in life, Caleb Courson has chosen a vocation through which he often risks his own safety to ensure the well-being of others. The enthusiasm and devotion to duty he has shown in all of his endeavors have earned him the respect and gratitude of his colleagues and of the citizens he has so capably served; therefore be it

       RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Caleb D. Courson on his recent accolade and salute him as one of Ohio's finest law enforcement officers; and be it further

       RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Caleb D. Courson.
