Honoring the Catholic Diocese of Toledo
on its Centennial.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF OHIO:
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate the Catholic Diocese of Toledo on its One Hundredth Anniversary; and |
| WHEREAS, Recognition of this special event is a fitting tribute to the Catholic Diocese of Toledo, for throughout the past century, it has achieved a praiseworthy record of service to the area. Established on April 15, 1910, the diocese serves more than 300,000 Catholics in nineteen counties, and since its inception, it has offered them the pathway to a more meaningful life by illuminating and demonstrating the precepts on which the Catholic Church was founded; and |
| WHEREAS, Over the years, the Catholic Diocese of Toledo has enhanced the quality of life within the surrounding area, and through its generous efforts, it has earned the gratitude and respect of the many citizens it has so capably served. The accomplishments of this fine religious institution are a justifiable source of pride and an excellent reflection not only on the diocese itself but also on its devoted leaders and members, both past and present; and |
| WHEREAS, An occasion such as this is an important milestone that represents dedication and commitment. For one hundred years, the members of the Catholic Diocese of Toledo have kept their faith alive in their communities, and on its Centennial, they have accepted the challenge of carrying their beliefs into the future; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend the Catholic Diocese of Toledo on its One Hundredth Anniversary and pay tribute to all those joining in the celebration of this joyous event; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Catholic Diocese of Toledo. |
