A RESOLUTION
Honoring Drew Carpenter
as a 2010 Division II State Wrestling Champion.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF OHIO:
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to Drew Carpenter on his exemplary performance in the 285-pound weight class at the 2010 Division II State Tournament; and |
| WHEREAS, Drew Carpenter's accomplishments are truly noteworthy, for he has clearly demonstrated his talent and perseverance, as well as his mental and physical fortitude as a wrestler. As a member of the Sheridan High School wrestling team and the first State Champion in the history of the Muskingum Valley League, he has exemplified all of the characteristics which are essential for success both in and out of the sports world--courage, integrity, and an innate sense of the principles of good sportsmanship; and |
| WHEREAS, By developing such remarkable prowess as an athlete, Drew Carpenter has earned the appreciation of his fellow athletes, the devotion of countless fans, and the respect of even his most determined rivals. His outstanding record of achievement stands as a hallmark worthy of emulation, and he has inspired countless individuals to excel in numerous areas of endeavor; and |
| WHEREAS, Wrestling is an event which requires exceptional strength, stamina, and natural ability, and Drew Carpenter is to be commended for his commitment to this demanding activity. In attaining his athletic goals, he has certainly distinguished himself as a true champion; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud Drew Carpenter on his recent distinction and salute him as a fine Ohioan; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Drew Carpenter. |
