Honoring Carlo Trafficante as the 2009 Ohio Coach of the Year.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF OHIO:


       WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to commend Carlo Trafficante on receiving the 2009 Ohio Coach of the Year Award for girls soccer from the National Federation of State High School Associations; and

       WHEREAS, Carlo Trafficante is deserving of this prestigious honor, which has been accorded to him in recognition of his exemplary coaching achievements during the 2009 season. A member of the staff at Fitch High School for the past eleven years, he served as an assistant coach for the girls soccer team for three years before becoming its head coach in 2002, and under his capable guidance, the squad received the Team Academic Award for seven of the past eight years. Indeed, his exceptional skill is reflected in his selection as a 2009 Ohio Coach of the Year; and

       WHEREAS, Carlo Trafficante's exceptional record of personal and professional success stands as a hallmark worthy of emulation, and he has inspired countless young people to excel in numerous areas of endeavor. The appreciation and esteem he has gained throughout his lifetime are clearly evident, and his accomplishments and leadership are a justifiable source of pride and an excellent reflection not only on him but also on his family, his players, his school, and his community; and

       WHEREAS, In a society that seeks to teach the future leaders of our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and the rewards of individual and group effort, athletic competition has become a valuable educational tool. Through Carlo Trafficante's contributions as a high school girls soccer coach, numerous student-athletes have learned the important lessons of discipline, perseverance, hard work, and good sportsmanship that will undoubtedly be of great benefit to them throughout their lives; therefore be it

       RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud Carlo Trafficante on this special distinction and extend best wishes for the years to come; and be it further

       RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Carlo Trafficante.
