Representative Driehaus 

Honoring St. Teresa of Avila girls soccer team on winning the 2008 Ohio SAY State Championship

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF OHIO:


       WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to the St. Teresa girls soccer team as the 2008 Ohio SAY State Champion; and

       WHEREAS, Under the capable leadership of Coaches Cindy Bihl and Mike Kampel, the St. Teresa of Avila girls soccer team has proven to be a talented and superbly conditioned squad and has gained the respect of fans and opponents alike for the spirited and highly motivated play of its members. Throughout the season, players Raina Aull, Emily Belew, Allison Bihl, Danielle Brockmann, Taylor Hollin, Isabella Jansen, Ally Kampel, Jessica Lauber, Madison Morgan, Maureen O'Brien, Abby Schatzman, Samantha Scholl, and Alexandria Wilson worked diligently to improve their skills on the field, and as a result, the Strikers accomplished their goals, bringing home this year's Ohio SAY State Championship crown and compiling an impressive 16-1 record; and

       WHEREAS, Known as a driven and determined squad, the Strikers have developed into a remarkably efficient group of athletes whose skill is equaled only by their exemplary display of teamwork and sportsmanship. They are a credit not only to their families and their school but also to the superb coaching of their mentors, Cindy Bihl and Mike Kampel; and

       WHEREAS, The road to victory and a championship title is a difficult one, requiring ability, endurance, and a positive attitude on the part of players and coaches alike. The members of the St. Teresa of Avila girls soccer team have exemplified all of the characteristics that are essential for success both on and off the soccer field, including courage, discipline, and integrity, and their efforts have earned them the admiration of all those who have witnessed these outstanding athletes in action; therefore be it

       RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate the St. Teresa of Avila girls soccer team as the 2008 Ohio SAY State Champion and commend all those associated with this exceptional squad; and be it further

       RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the St. Teresa of Avila girls soccer team.
