Honoring the Ohio Military Hall of Fame on the occasion of its tenth annual induction ceremony.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF OHIO:


       WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate the Ohio Military Hall of Fame on its tenth annual induction ceremony, May 1, 2009; and

       WHEREAS, The Ohio Military Hall of Fame honors those Ohio citizens who served in the U.S. military and who distinguished themselves by displaying extraordinary heroism while engaged in combat against an enemy of the United States. These fine individuals each received a medal of valor, such as the Medal of Honor, Distinguished Service Cross, Silver Star, Distinguished Flying Cross for Heroism, Bronze Star with "V" Device, Air Medal with "V" Device, or Commendation Medal with "V" Device, for their efforts; and

       WHEREAS, The Ohio Military Hall of Fame is deserving of high praise, and recognition of its tenth annual induction ceremony is a fitting tribute to its inductees. The Class of 2009 consists of the late Sergeant William Vaughan, First Lieutenant Robert H. Walker, Captain John P. Carlin, Sergeant Terry A. Cordle, Staff Sergeant Michael L. DeHart, Major Raymond Gordon, Sr., the late Major Albert G. Maroscher, the late Technical Sergeant Ralph J. Reichley, the late Private First Class Joseph V. Solvey, the late Captain Paul E. Taylor, Warrant Officer James A. Adams, Captain Roscoe E. Cartwright, Jr., Specialist Lester M. Danley, Hospital Corpsman Third Class Ronald L. Dotson, Corporal Carlos M. Easterday, the late Corporal Joseph Gaborsky, Jr., Private First Class Lowell E. Hoover, First Lieutenant Chester P. Larson, Jr., Private First Class Robert E. Stewart, and Private First Class Eugene F. Wood, and we applaud them on their willingness to fight, and even to die, for our country's democratic ideals; and

       WHEREAS, The heroic traditions of our armed forces are an important part of America's heritage, and the Ohio Military Hall of Fame is working diligently to perpetuate and preserve this legacy, lauding those brave individuals who have answered this nation's call to arms and who have made great sacrifices in service to the United States; therefore be it

       RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend the Ohio Military Hall of Fame on its 2009 induction ceremony and salute all those who will be inducted into this noteworthy organization; and be it further

       RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Ohio Military Hall of Fame.
