A RESOLUTION
Representatives Ruhl, Stautberg
Honoring the Kenyon College Men's Swimming Team
on winning the 2010 NCAA Division III Men's Swimming and Diving Championship.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF OHIO:
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to the Kenyon College men's swimming team as the winner of the 2010 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championship; and |
| WHEREAS, Under the leadership of Coach Jim Steen and his assistants, the Kenyon College men's swimming team has again proven to be a talented and superbly conditioned squad, gaining the respect of fans and opponents alike for the spirited and highly motivated performance of its members. Throughout the season, each swimmer worked diligently to improve his skills in the pool. As a result, the Lords accomplished their goals, winning nine event titles, setting five NCAA records, and achieving the largest margin of victory ever at the 2010 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championship; and |
| WHEREAS, Known as a driven and determined team, the Lords have developed into a remarkably efficient group of student athletes whose abilities are equaled only by their exemplary display of teamwork and sportsmanship. They are a credit not only to their families and their school but also to the superb coaching of their mentor, Jim Steen; and |
| WHEREAS, The Lord's have now captured their 31st consecutive NCAA Division III Men's Swimming and Diving Championship, a record unequaled by any school, in any sport, in any division; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate the Kenyon College men's swimming team on capturing the 2010 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championship and extend best wishes for the future; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Kenyon College men's swimming team. |
