A RESOLUTION
Honoring Father Andrew J. Umberg
on receiving the National Catholic Education Association's Distinguished Pastor Award.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF OHIO:
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to Father Andrew J. Umberg on receiving a Distinguished Pastor Award from the National Catholic Education Association; and |
| WHEREAS, Father Andrew Umberg is, indeed, a remarkable individual, combining compassionate concern and commitment with selfless initiative to become an advocate for Catholic education at St. William School. Pastor of St. William Parish since 2005, he has dedicated countless hours and seemingly inexhaustible energy to the school as its Latin teacher, and he has been active with its Bible Bowl competition, sacramental preparation, and autism program; and |
| WHEREAS, The holy vocation which Father Andrew Umberg follows carries with it the tremendous responsibility of caring for the spiritual needs of others, and he has fulfilled his obligations in a truly praiseworthy manner. In performing his sacred duties, he has been not only a priest but also a teacher, scholar, and friend whose door is always open to those in need of spiritual guidance and counsel, and he has earned the gratitude and respect of all who know him; and |
| WHEREAS, We are proud to note that it is through the generous efforts of individuals such as Father Andrew Umberg that the Roman Catholic Church is taking on a dynamic new role in the daily lives of all Christians. Through his untiring compassion, devotion, and service, he has eased the burdens of many, and his positive philosophy of life and dedication to the teachings of Jesus Christ have been an inspiration to all who have enjoyed the privilege of his association over the years; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Father Andrew J. Umberg on his recent accolade and salute him as one of Ohio's finest religious leaders; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Father Andrew J. Umberg. |
