A RESOLUTION
Honoring Louie Vito
for his success at the 2010 Winter Olympics.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF OHIO:
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to recognize Louie Vito on winning fifth in the men's halfpipe snowboarding competition at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Canada; and |
| WHEREAS, This accomplishment is truly noteworthy, for Louie Vito has clearly demonstrated his talent and perseverance, as well as his mental and physical fortitude as a snowboarder and Olympian. With admirable dedication, sheer talent, and a painstaking work ethic, he has exemplified all of the characteristics which are essential for success both in and out of the sports world--courage, determination, and an innate sense of the principles of good sportsmanship; and |
| WHEREAS, The 2008 and 2009 U.S. Chevy Snowboarding Grand Prix champion, Louie Vito was the first in his sport to land a back to back double corked 1080 and a triple double in competition, and he has earned the appreciation of his fellow athletes, the devotion of countless fans, and the respect of even his most determined rivals. Competition in athletics has enabled him to learn much about dedication and self-discipline, and we take this opportunity to acknowledge his exceptional record of achievement; and |
| WHEREAS, Halfpipe snowboarding is an event which requires exceptional focus and natural ability, and Louie Vito is to be commended for his commitment to this demanding activity. In attaining his Olympic goals, he has consistently exhibited the skill and integrity which are the hallmarks of a true champion; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate Louie Vito on placing fifth in the men's halfpipe snowboarding competition at the 2010 Winter Olympics and extend best wishes for continued success; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Louie Vito. |
