In memory of Specialist Scott Morrison.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF OHIO:


       WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio extend our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Specialist Scott Morrison on the sorrowful occasion of his death; and

       WHEREAS, Although there are no words to ease the sorrow now felt, surely there is solace in the remembrance of having known such an outstanding individual. A 2005 graduate of Sycamore High School and a former employee of the Blue Ash Recreation Center, Scott Morrison joined the U.S. Army in 2008, and he was serving with the 20th Engineer Battalion, 36th Engineer Brigade in support of Operation Enduring Freedom when he was killed in the line of duty. His valiant efforts were truly admirable, and his absence will be keenly felt; and

       WHEREAS, In many significant endeavors, Scott Morrison always used his talents to the benefit of others, and the laurels of his life stand as a tribute not only to him but also to those he left behind, including his parents, Donald and Sue. The great traditions of our country's service men and women are an important chapter of American history, and his family and friends can be proud of the sacrifices he made to ensure freedom and justice for all people; and

       WHEREAS, Although the void his death has created can never be filled, Scott Morrison will be remembered as a spirited individual who contributed immeasurably to the world around him. It is certain that the world is a richer place for his having been in it, and he will be sorely missed; therefore be it

       RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, mourn the loss and salute the memory of a truly unique individual, Specialist Scott Morrison; and be it further

       RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the family of Specialist Scott Morrison.
