Honoring the State Employment Relations Board on the occasion of its Twenty-fifth Anniversary.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF OHIO:


       WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to the State Employment Relations Board as it celebrates its Twenty-fifth Anniversary; and

       WHEREAS, The State Employment Relations Board is deserving of high praise for providing public employees with exemplary representation. Created in 1984 by the Ohio General Assembly, SERB administers the Ohio Public Employees' Collective Bargaining Act, and the three-member board, appointed by the governor, is responsible for such functions as determining appropriate bargaining units, monitoring and enforcing statutory dispute procedures, adjudicating unfair labor practice charges, and determining unauthorized strikes; and

       WHEREAS, It is not surprising that the State Employment Relations Board has attained widespread recognition, for it has achieved a record of service worthy of emulation. This fine agency has engaged in an array of worthwhile activities that have met a number of needs for the work force, and its impressive contributions to the State of Ohio readily explain why it is so widely held in high esteem; and

       WHEREAS, As it commemorates its Twenty-fifth Anniversary, the State Employment Relations Board has the opportunity to reaffirm its goals and to formulate policies to meet the challenges and responsibilities of the future. We are certain that in the years to come, this praiseworthy organization will continue to display the same dedication to effectiveness and efficiency for which it has become known; therefore be it

       RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate the State Employment Relations Board on its Twenty-fifth Anniversary and salute its administrators and staff as fine Ohioans; and be it further

       RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the State Employment Relations Board.
