A RESOLUTION
Honoring the Mount Notre Dame High School girls basketball team
on winning the 2009 Division I State Championship.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF OHIO:
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate the Mount Notre Dame High School girls basketball team as the 2009 Division I State Champion; and |
| WHEREAS, Each member of the Mount Notre Dame High School girls basketball team is an excellent young athlete, and Coach Dante Harlan has demonstrated remarkable energy, enthusiasm, and dedication in guiding this squad to victory. This season, the Cougars bested the team from Toledo Start by a score of 52-38 to win their fourth consecutive Division I State Championship title, and the unwavering commitment of the players and their coach has earned them this honor; and |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Mount Notre Dame High School girls basketball team have established themselves as truly exceptional athletes, and they have emerged as winners both on and off the court. Dante Harlan's skill as a coach is reflected in his squad's success, and he has earned the respect and admiration of all who know him; and |
| WHEREAS, In an educational system that seeks to teach the future leaders of our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and the rewards of individual and group effort, athletic competition has become a valuable educational tool. The maturity and experience the Cougars have gained through their participation in sports will greatly aid them in meeting the challenges of the future; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend the Mount Notre Dame High School girls basketball team on its exemplary season and salute the players and coach as some of Ohio's finest citizens; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Mount Notre Dame High School girls basketball team. |
