A RESOLUTION
Honoring the Willoughby South High School Academic Decathlon team
as the 2009 State Champion.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF OHIO:
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to the Willoughby South High School Academic Decathlon team on placing first at the 2009 Academic Decathlon Championship; and |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Willoughby South High School Academic Decathlon team are a remarkable group of young students, combining talent and competitive spirit with exceptional knowledge in a wide range of subjects to win this year's Ohio Academic Decathlon Championship and compete at the national level, where they earned ninth-place. Throughout long hours of practice and preparation, the members have displayed a degree of determination and motivation of which they can be proud; and |
| WHEREAS, The success of the Willoughby South High School Academic Decathlon team is a fitting tribute to the excellent leadership provided by Coach Bruce Myers. The group's accomplishment is a justifiable source of pride not only for its members but also for their families, their coaches, their school, and their community; and |
| WHEREAS, The maturity and experience the students have gained through their participation in competition will greatly aid them in meeting the challenges of the future. They have exhibited a sincere desire to do their best in all of their endeavors so that they might fulfill their goals in the future, and this, coupled with their responsibility and initiative, shows their potential to become some of tomorrow's leaders; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, honor the Willoughby South High School Academic Decathlon team and extend best wishes for ongoing success; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Willoughby South High School Academic Decathlon team. |
