A RESOLUTION
Honoring the Shawnee High School girls powerlifting team
on winning 2009 state and national championships.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF OHIO:
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to commend the Shawnee High School girls powerlifting team as a 2009 state and national champion; and |
| WHEREAS, Under the capable leadership of Coach Tim Seelig, this talented and superbly conditioned squad has gained the respect of fans and opponents alike for the spirited and highly motivated performance of its members. Throughout the season, each athlete worked diligently to improve her skills and increase her strength, and as a result of their hard work, the Lady Braves won national titles in the equipped, unequipped, and power sports divisions at the NASA High School Nationals and won divisions I, II, and III at the Ohio State Powerlifting Meet to extend their winning streak to 120-0 over three years; and |
| WHEREAS, Known as a driven and determined team, the Lady Braves have developed into a remarkably efficient group of athletes whose skill is equaled only by their exemplary determination and sportsmanship. They are not only a credit to their families and their school, but they are also representative of the superb coaching ability of their mentor, Tim Seelig; and |
| WHEREAS, The time and energy that the team members have devoted to preparing for these tournaments reflect their high personal standards and their willingness to work hard to achieve superior results. The maturity and experience the members have gained through their participation in athletics will greatly aid them in meeting the challenges of the future, and we are confident that they will continue to develop their talents and to prepare themselves for meaningful and rewarding roles in our complex society; therefore be it

| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate the Shawnee High School girls powerlifting team on an exemplary season; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Shawnee High School girls powerlifting team. |
