Honoring Chet Looney as a member of the OHSFCA Hall of Fame Class of 2009.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF OHIO:


       WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Chet Looney on being inducted into the 2009 Ohio High School Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame; and

       WHEREAS, Chet Looney is deserving of this prestigious honor, which has been accorded to him for his numerous coaching accomplishments. Throughout his thirty-five-year tenure as head coach of the East Knox High School football team, he demonstrated remarkable energy, enthusiasm, and dedication in helping his players gain confidence, endurance, and strength; and

       WHEREAS, As a result of his efforts, Chet Looney guided his teams to eleven Mid-Buckeye Conference crowns and made seven playoff appearances, finishing as the regional runners-up on two occasions and a regional semifinalist twice. Compiling a career record of 207-143-7, he has received numerous coaching honors, and he is truly deserving of high praise; and

        WHEREAS, Chet Looney's exceptional record of personal and professional attainment stands as a hallmark worthy of emulation, and he has motivated countless student-athletes through leadership and mutual respect, helping prepare them for both mental and physical challenges. The esteem and admiration he has earned throughout his career are clearly evident, and his achievements are a justifiable source of pride and an excellent reflection not only on him but also on his family, his players, and his community; therefore be it

       RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Chet Looney on his success and salute him as one of Ohio's finest citizens; and be it further

       RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Chet Looney.
