Honoring Mitch Rooks as the recipient of the Star State Degree in Agricultural Placement.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF OHIO:


       WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Mitch Rooks on receiving the Star State Degree in Agricultural Placement at the 2009 Ohio FFA Convention; and

       WHEREAS, Mitch Rooks is deserving of high praise, for he has demonstrated remarkable diligence and enthusiasm, as well as an unwavering dedication to upholding the goals and principles of the National FFA Organization. A 2008 graduate of Loudonville High School and a member of the Loudonville FFA, he has displayed an exceptional willingness to work hard to produce superior results, and as a result, he has been accorded the Star State Degree in Agricultural Placement, which is only awarded to one FFA member in Ohio each year; and

       WHEREAS, During his time in FFA, Mitch Rooks has accumulated more than 5,600 logged work hours at Rooks Brothers Dairy and four years of supervised agricultural experience projects, and he has also earned his State FFA Degree, first place in Dairy Placement Proficiency, and second place in Diversified Crop Placement Proficiency. We applaud him on his tremendous efforts; and

       WHEREAS, FFA plays a vital role in the total education of young people, for it is through such worthwhile programs that the value of hard work is taught and an opportunity is afforded to develop good leadership skills. It is certainly encouraging to know that the future of Ohio agriculture lies, to a large extent, in the capable hands of conscientious individuals such as Mitch Rooks; therefore be it

       RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Mitch Rooks for outstanding success and salute him as one of Ohio's finest young citizens; and be it further

       RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Mitch Rooks.
